Follow in the footsteps of Japan’s legendary ninjas. G-SHOCK now brings you into the world of ancient Japanese martial arts, mystery and intrigue.

Everything about this timepiece is inspired by these secret agents, who went undercover to serve powerful shogun and daimyo figures in old Japan.

The Japanese write “ninja” like this: 忍者. 忍 is composed of elements that signify a blade over a heart, and 者 means “person.”

The combination suggests the dedication to toughness required of every ninja. This same never-give-up toughness lies at the very heart of the G-SHOCK identity. It is front and centre here in the DW-6900NNJ with front buttons and triple graph, the classic digital DW-5600NNJ, and the octagonal GA-2100NNJ.

All three feature shuriken ninja star accents on the dial, backlight, band loop, and case back. Then each takes the design to a whole new level with inspiration from a different ninjutsu, the legendary skills that are the art of the ninja.

Choose your favourite — the DW-5600NNJ suiton no jutsu water arts; the GA-2100NNJ katon no jutsu fire arts; and the DW-6900NNJ ninja hashiri bashiri wind-like speed.

DW-5600NNJ:

Goes underwater with a translucent blue band hot stamped in a latticework pattern evoking chain armor. Suiton no jutsu — The art of evading and infiltrating by hiding in ponds, rivers, moats and other bodies of water. A section of bamboo was typically used as a snorkel to breathe, but legend has it that ninjas would cut the tip of their sword sheath and use it to go even deeper underwater.

GA-2100NNJ:

Features a grey translucent band and bezel evoking the smoke of the fireball, with hot stamped latticework in the style of chain armour. Katon no jutsu — One of the tonjutsu arts by which ninjas hid from and evaded their enemies, the katon no jutsu involves using fire to distract enemy attention, conceal oneself, or create a diversion. This could be done by, for example, setting fire to straw or wood, with fire arrows or ninja stars packed with gunpowder and a fuse.

DW-6900NNJ:

Employs multi-angle print graphics to project the wind-like speed of the super-fast ninja. These timepieces are made in Japan, as were the ninjas they honor, and they come in special packaging designed with ninja fans in mind. Ninja bashiri — Ninja-style running in which the upper body remains still. When running long distances, ninjas knew how to keep the body from swaying side to side, making their running posture extremely efficient.
