Rui Hachimura

Rui Hachimura was born on February 8, 1998, in Toyama Prefecture and took up basketball seriously during his middle school years. While attending Meisei High School in Miyagi Prefecture, he led his team to three consecutive wins in the All-Japan High-School Tournament. During this time, he was also identified as a prospective player for Japan's national team. In 2016, Hachimura moved to the U.S. to attend Gonzaga University, known for its prestigious basketball program within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). By his third season, he became a pivotal player for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, helping them reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. His outstanding skills during this period won him the Julius Erving Award, recognising him as the season's best small forward. Hachimura made history in 2019 as the first Japanese player to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft, starting his professional career with the Washington Wizards. During his rookie year, he played in 48 of 72 games, delivering such impressive performances that he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In 2023, he transferred to the Los Angeles Lakers.

FEATURES

Hachimura’s signature logo celebrates his identity

The signature "Black Samurai" logo of Hachimura is intricately engraved on the band loop, merging the Japanese character 八 (hachi, meaning "eight")—a nod to his name—with the silhouette of a Japanese sword, cleverly forming an additional "H" for "Hachimura." His autograph adorns the case back, elegantly finished in a sophisticated yellow-gold ion plating.

Special packaging

The watch is presented in unique packaging adorned with an illustration of a basketball hoop, alongside a printed version of Rui Hachimura's signature, emphasising the collector's value and thematic essence of this special edition.
