Homage to the legendary TOM’S KP47 Starlet race car: TOM’S 50th anniversary commemorative model
An homage to the historic TOM’S KP47 Starlet, a race car that led TOM’S Racing to championship victories in the team’s early days, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the famed company’s establishment. To create this chronograph, the EDIFICE development team researched the special race car, which was fully restored to its original state in a 2018 project. The totally dynamic design, befitting an EDIFICE timepiece, incorporates a range of details, including key colors, evoking the look of the legendary racing machine that created a sensation in the 1970s motorsports world, evoking TOM’S Racing’s proud history.
Established in 1974, TOM’S serves as Toyota’s official tuning team and specializes in the development and sales of aftermarket parts, complete cars, and more, with a primary focus on Toyota. The company also participates in car racing as a semi-works team for Toyota both in Japan and internationally in categories including SUPER GT and SUPER FORMULA. EDIFICE has been an official sponsor of the team since 2013.

Colour scheme echoing the iconic TOM’S KP47 Starlet
A special KP47 Starlet made TOM’S Racing an overnight sensation with an impressive streak of minor touring race victories in the 1970s: 22 pole positions, 20 championship victories, and three series champion victories. White, red, and green — colours symbolising the racing machine’s fearless image — are incorporated throughout the dial and elsewhere. The design expresses the legendary race car’s nostalgia-inducing form, capturing the dynamic way it tore up the tracks.
Dial shape evoking the car’s front grille and 3K-R engine
See-through design employing a dual-layer construction expresses iconic features of the TOM’S KP47 Starlet, with a mesh pattern inspired by its front grille and a purple hue evoking the cover of the car’s 3K-R engine. The dial employs carbon fiber, a material also used in race cars, and a TOM’S logo at the 3 o’clock position.
Inset dials inspired by TOM’S Igeta wheels
The upper and lower inset dials feature a design motif based on the TOM’S KP47 Starlet’s iconic Igeta wheels. Expressing the distinctive shape of the spokes, which looked like a sharp mark (#), in silhouette form enables plenty of light to pass through the inset dials to solar power the watch.
Original leather band featuring the first TOM’S logo
The tag on the longer leather band is emblazoned with the first TOM’S logo, for a nostalgic touch from the early days. The key color of green appears as an accent along the edge of the band. The shorter band features a dimensional design evoking the TOM’S KP47 Starlet’s B-pillar.
Double band loop reproducing the famous racer’s detailing
The metal band loop features a tapered shape and two differently sized holes evoking the mounting arms of the TOM’S KP47 Starlet’s fender mirrors. The leather band loop sports the car’s body colors of white, red, and green.
Glass-printed “36” referencing TOM’S ace car number
The number of TOM’s ace car that raced in prestigious SUPER GT and SUPER FORMULA races, 36, is glass-printed at the 36-minute mark. The current TOM’S logo adorns the dial at the 3 o’clock position, expressing the TOM’S spirit of challenge to keep on racing for another 50 years.
Limited-edition design features commemorating a special collaboration
Both TOM’S and EDIFICE logos are engraved on the case back, marking the chronograph as an official TOM’S timepiece. The watch comes in a special package featuring base colors of white, red, and green — the TOM’S KP47 Starlet’s body colors — with both current and former TOM’S logos.
