EDIFICE x Honda Racing
EDIFICE and Honda Racing have teamed up to release a new timepiece, the EQB2000HR. This latest collaboration model is part of the EDIFICE line and is based on the brand concept of "Speed and Intelligence." The watch dial features the same authentic paint used on the red badge of Honda Racing cars, making it a perfect match for fans of motorsports and high-performance timepieces.
Honda Racing is the motorsport division of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. that pursues various motorsport activities around the world. The collaboration between Honda Racing and EDIFICE started in 2018, as both of them share a passion for leveraging high-tech capabilities in their global pursuits. The EQB2000HR is based on the EQB2000 model, with a case design inspired by the suspension arms of formula race cars, it's a high-performance chronograph with a color scheme that matches the striking hue of the iconic red badge of Honda Racing.
The red badge of Honda Racing has deep roots in the company's history, it's based on the design of the RA271, a Honda race car that was the first entry by a Japanese automaker in an F1™ race in 1964. This red badge is a symbol of the company's racing spirit and appears exclusively on its speed-delivering Type R cars, among commercially available cars. The same genuine paint used in this red badge is employed to colour the X at the centre of the watch dial, creating a striking and powerful watch design.
In addition to the use of authentic paint, the watch also features the Honda Racing Corporation "HRC" logo at 3 o'clock on the dial and a logo commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Suzuka Circuit's establishment by Honda, which is engraved on the case back. The band of the watch is made of Alcantara, a 100% Made in Italy material with excellent durability, breathability and comfort, that is also used in the interiors of Honda Type R cars. These design features express the passion for racing that is inherent to the Honda worldview.
The EQB-2000HR is powered by the Tough Solar charging system and features Mobile Link technology, which allows the watch to be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth. When used with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES app, the watch automatically adjusts the time, and the app also enables easy and intuitive setting of world time and transfer of stopwatch data measured on the watch, providing support for racing activities. This new watch is a perfect blend of speed and intelligence, making it a must-have for motorsports enthusiasts and watch enthusiasts alike.
