Celebrating 50 Years of CASIO Watches

Commemorative timepieces sparkling with the CASIO passion for new value and constant innovation

CASIO is releasing five commemorative watches from its CASIOTRON, G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK, and BABY-G brands. They all feature a shared design theme that evokes the first flicker of light, where the creation of new value begins.

A spirit of craftsmanship expressing the journey: “Making something from nothing”

The very first wristwatch CASIO released in 1974 — the CASIOTRON — was the world’s first digital watch with an automatic calendar function. Over the half-century since, CASIO has taken on many other challenges, always remaining committed to originality and constant innovation. With a devotion to craftsmanship inspired by the thrill of “making something from nothing” — CASIO has driven the evolution of the timepiece by introducing expanded functionality, including solar-charging systems, radio wave reception, and Smartphone Link connectivity.

Making something from nothing requires a dedication to overcoming challenges and boldly breaking free of conventional thinking — no matter how well-established, perfected, and complete they may seem — to present innovative new concepts and ideas.

The five commemorative models feature a unified black and gold color scheme that evokes the first flicker of light, where the creation of new value begins. All of them incorporate eco-conscious design features, including the solar-charging system, which converts sunlight and fluorescent light into energy to power all watch functions, and special packaging made with recycled materials.
